PersonalMap
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 28 July 2026
The summary is simple: we collect nothing.
What data we collect
None. PersonalMap has no server, uses no analytics, contains no third-party SDKs, and transmits no personal data to us or to anyone else. We do not see, receive, or have any ability to access your location history.
Where your history is stored
Your location history, notes, voice recordings and all other data are stored exclusively on your device. If you optionally enable iCloud sync, data is synchronized between your devices through the private iCloud database of your own Apple account — on Apple's infrastructure, not ours, under Apple's privacy terms.
Apple services the app uses
- Apple Maps: map display is provided by Apple Maps, as in any maps app.
- Automatic place naming (optional, off by default): if you enable it, coordinates are sent to Apple's geocoding service to name your places. You can turn it off at any time.
- Photos: with your permission, the app reads dates and locations (EXIF) from your library to show them next to your visits. No photo is ever copied or transmitted anywhere.
Your rights
Because your data belongs only to you and lives only on your devices, you exercise your rights directly in the app: export your entire history (JSON, GPX, CSV or an encrypted archive) for free at any time, correct or delete any record, or erase everything. Deleting the app deletes its data from the device.
Purchases
The optional one-time purchase is processed by Apple's App Store. We receive no payment or identity information.
